Great trail! Was definitely tough right after the last bridge for a good while but after the side of the mountain hike it was way easier! Beautiful hike

Really nice trail! Start early around 7/8 am. It gets really busy around lunchtime and not as enjoyable. Still icy in some portions of the trail.

Recommend ice spikes on this hike. Some loose gravel in the higher elevations with narrow trails.

Lovely trail. Be sure to keep your head up to look for the trail sign pointing to the right past the seventh bridge. You’ll climb up some rock steps leading to the scree field. If you continue left, which is easy to do, you get off trail into another scree field that’s more difficult, could be dangerous as well. I uploaded a picture of the trail sign. I recommend hiking poles for the scree section when you get past the seventh bridge. Gets very narrow and slippery in this spot, on the edge of the mountain. The first time I hiked it without poles and got pretty nervous, especially coming down. When you get into the aspen grove, take a hard right onto a steep but wide trail. You gain a good bit of elevation here. When you get to the trail junction (you’ll see a no camping/fire sign), take the trail to the left (667). Just a little further you’ll see the trail for Loud’s on the right by the trout sign (622A). From here the trail is an easy stroll. You’ll pass the Bear Creek bridge and continue up the mountain to Loud’s. Beautiful hike, didn’t pass anyone on the trail on the way to the cabin. Clocked 7 miles roundtrip.

Trails aren't even marked how did anyone find this cabin? We never found the cabin or the trail.

Absolutely gorgeous hike this time of year. We did Loud's Cabin combined with the Kineo Mountain summit. The two combined showed a 14 mile round trip so beware that the distance on this app is not anywhere near accurate. Both hikes use the same trails so it makes sense to combine the two. The hike was pleasant, crowded in the Aspen grove but in a day or two all that color will be gone. Loud's was a beautiful meandering trail through the forest with easy elevation changes once past the aspen grove. I would recommend making this hike. Possibly study the area and combine hikes. For instructions on how to reach the both of these please read my Kineo Mountain review. This trail can get tricky past the 7th bridge on trail 622.

I do this sometimes rather than going all the way up to Mount Garfield. The trail is a cruiser mostly and I enjoy the scree fields (although) they can be hot.

Perfect trail for anyone looking to explore more deep into the valley.. lots of different scenery and not all uphill Plus you can stop by the underground shelter with fire place right before you arrive at the cabin.. just have to spot it ;)

Icy and you need spikes! Did this on3/9/2019. The ice was a blessing because it started out with large talkative groups but the ice turned them away so majority of the trail was quiet. Diverse trail with rocky parts, a soothing Creek to listen to but we didn’t make it to the end - snowy on the back side and I didn’t want to get my socks packed with snow. We’ll come back in the fall-lovely aspen grove at the top. Oh and dog owners pick up your dog waste. Saw too much of that.

Rating this Trail five stars for interesting and beautiful views along with difficulty and sliding in ice. Would definitely recommend trekking poles and spikes during winter months. The trail can be done without them however extremely dangerous as my spikes broke halfway through the trail and I slipped a lot coming down. Blessed that I didn't get hurt. Couple of spots where it's hard to see the direction of the trail pictures included.

The hike up to the cabin was not very difficult until we crossed the last bridge. Mostly because of snow and ice. Fortunately we didn’t have to be the first trail blazers but some fresh snowfall added to the difficulty of the hike. Would recommend yaktrax or poles for the top half of the hike during the winter.

Hiked this 2 weeks ago, it was great. The fall leaves were all gone. I did have to use my GPS to navigate.

I️t gets steep after seven falls trail ends, and one section is very sandy/gravely with some height exposure. Otherwise very beautiful hike, once you make I️t to the Aspens it’s very relaxing and tranquil.

Gorgeous hike! Trail can be difficult to follow at times. Wouldn’t say this is a tourist destination by any means, but if you live in the area like I do it’s a great hike and definitely worth checking out. Super easy if you don’t mind the distance.
