Big Loop is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Broomfield, Colorado that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, trail running, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Easy, with plenty of benches and trash cans. Scenery was pretty boring though.
It was nice and easy. That was impossible because my wife has arthritis
Beautiful trail with a set path and a nice view of the mountains.
My favorite shorter home run loop. Spectacular views of Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and 14,000 foot Longs Peak all with a dusting of fresh snow.
Open vistas with panoramic but slightly distant front and back range views. Nice trails can sometimes be wet but not annoyingly muddy. Mostly level with little elevation gain. Smaller sized paved parking area and no fees. Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and mask a must!
Big refers to not just the longer than two mile loop but also the views of sky and mountain. The soft surface trail passes ponds and wetlands, farm fields, prairie dog towns, and sports fields along its course. Developers would love to get their hands on this generous parcel of open space but the value for the community as is far exceeds its utility were it private.
Lots of dog poop that wasn’t picked up on the trail. Colors are nice on the surrounding trees right now
Started at 8am, and it is a beautiful trail. the sun wasn't up to high yet (there is 0 shade), the breeze was nice, people are friendly, there are puppy poop bags around the trail, very green and beautiful. I tried this trail the other day around Noon, terrible idea because of the Sun. but if you hit it in the morning/evening, its perfect.
Pretty nice!! Not a super clear loop but not crowded at all and great to clear your mind! Lots of different little off shoots to take. No shade at all.
