omg... do not get off the path at night. You will never find it again unless you are on the EZ trail running around the lake.

This trail is very busy as other reviews said. We went around lunch time but were able to park, there’s constantly cars going in and out. It is free to park and there are restrooms as well as a visitor center. That being said this lake is totally worth stopping at. The trail is well done and maintained. The views are incredible and it’s a great warm up for RMNP. Also the trailhead for Storms Pass is off the parking lot so you can explore some of that for more solitude.

A beautiful and easy trail. My 3 small children (ages 4, 4, & 2) love this short stroll looking for ducks, chipmunks, and muskrats. It’s a favorite for our family. We go 3 times a year.

This is a surprise lovely trail considering it's right on the side of the road. It's a nice easy stroll with a great view.

Super easy for beautiful views of peaks (including Longs) and mirror effect in early morning. Apparently moose frequent area but we weren’t lucky. Nice warm up to Wild Basin area or can be extended to include a climb to ridge which we didn’t have time for.

This was our first hike in RMNP and it was a perfect intro! Our 4 year old walked the whole way. We enjoyed the views going clockwise and loved watching the ducks diving under the lake for food. Weather was absolutely perfect on this late August day. It got quite crowded around lunchtime.

Lily Lake is a nice well maintained trail if just a few ups and downs. It’s a very pleasant morning run before the crowds arrive

We really enjoyed this hike. We went up into the mountain higher . My kids loved it. It was such a pretty view of lake. Lots of ducks swimming. It’s busy but not as bad as in RMNP.

Nice little stroll away from the crowds. Don’t get me wrong, it still gets crowded, but nothing like other parts in RMNP. Watch out for swooping birds and an occasional moose! This is also a common wedding site (permits required) please respect any wedding ceremonies taking place!

The gentlest of flat trails with great views around a serene lake. Good for any skill level including people with disabilities. Heavily trafficked and parking lot is small so go early but if you need a sampling of Rocky Mountain national Park and don’t want a lot of exertion this is perfect.

What a great trail. It is made for all skill levels with side paths for those more adventurous. Great for kids too.

Short trail with no elevation gain and just goes around the lake. There are several trails that jet off of this so that more experienced hikers can have their fun, but this is a good stroll for people of all ages. Good luck with parking after 11am- I had to park on hwy 7.

Perfect trail for someone who isn’t used to the elevation changes and needs something easier. It was great to see a bit o wildlife out there, a garden snake, ducks and an Eagle fly-over were just a few highlights, not to mention the beautiful wedding taking place!

Super easy hike. Parking was a bit of a cluster. The lost next to the lake was completely full and the dirt lot across the street was also full with lots cars lining the road. Got lucky and got a spot in the gravel lot.

This super easy trail near Estes Park is a great way to pass the time. We took this walk with our parents who are in their late 60s and they loved it.

We went about 2 hours before sunset (6:30) on 7/2 and there was plenty of parking and not many people on the trail (especially if you add the ridge section to your hike). We saw ducks (and babies), muskrats, chipmunks, hummingbirds, paedomorphic tiger salamanders (look for them in the shallow water close to the shore), and lots of marsh birds. Also some beautiful flowers. Afternoon sunlight was great for photography, and birds seem to hang out close to the trail. One of our favorite spots (when not crowded!)
