We drove by this yesterday and cars were there but the lot is barricaded and you can see yellow tape trying to keep people out. A ranger truck actually pulled off at the lot but I don’t know if he went in to look for people .The same thing for the TwinSisters lot across the street.

Great trail. Very easy. Glad I brought my spikes but not too icy to handle. Can’t wait to do it in the summer or fall. The views are beautiful.

This is a great trail for snowshoeing. The wind started to pick up closer to afternoon, but it was still manageable. We took the trail around the lake and then jumped on Lily Ridge trail for a little more exercise and million dollar views. The trail was completely snow covered and hard to follow, but it’s not long so we figured it out. Parking was not a problem at 10:30 am, and there is a bathroom at the trailhead. Normally I choose longer, more challenging trails but this one was so scenic that I will be sure to return!

Great trail. We had just arrived in Estes but wanted to get out there before the sun went down. This trail was perfect for that. Took about 30min maybe. Easy pathed walk with some off shoots to play on if you want. Great views as well.

omg... do not get off the path at night. You will never find it again unless you are on the EZ trail running around the lake.

This trail is very busy as other reviews said. We went around lunch time but were able to park, there’s constantly cars going in and out. It is free to park and there are restrooms as well as a visitor center. That being said this lake is totally worth stopping at. The trail is well done and maintained. The views are incredible and it’s a great warm up for RMNP. Also the trailhead for Storms Pass is off the parking lot so you can explore some of that for more solitude.

A beautiful and easy trail. My 3 small children (ages 4, 4, & 2) love this short stroll looking for ducks, chipmunks, and muskrats. It’s a favorite for our family. We go 3 times a year.

Super easy for beautiful views of peaks (including Longs) and mirror effect in early morning. Apparently moose frequent area but we weren’t lucky. Nice warm up to Wild Basin area or can be extended to include a climb to ridge which we didn’t have time for.

This was our first hike in RMNP and it was a perfect intro! Our 4 year old walked the whole way. We enjoyed the views going clockwise and loved watching the ducks diving under the lake for food. Weather was absolutely perfect on this late August day. It got quite crowded around lunchtime.
