The first hill is a doozy but it’s worth it. There are also a couple trees to stop for some shade on the way up.

Went "late" for a Saturday morning but managed to get "the" one parking spot. (There is an overflow area just north). There's no shade so early morning would be best. Nice to have such great, 360* views, so close the city and there are many more miles of trail to explore while you're up there. The initial ascent was a lung-burner and, yes, the rattlers are out .

We did this trail a little later in the morning 10:00. There was no shade which made it somewhat difficult. The top had some great rock structures and pretty views of the city.

Not a bad hike, but it should be done super early in the morning. There is a rattlesnake advisory in the trail, so use caution. My girls (3 & 5) did have a snake cross our path on the Lichen Peak trail at the top. Not bad views. There's road noise the whole way up the steep path. I think this is a better trail for early spring and fall, not summer.

Beautiful views of Denver and the foothills! Easy hike. Extended it to do Mesa trail to north table loop.

Steep climb up for someone who doesn’t get a lot of cardio. I took a breather halfway up. Cool to see the mountains on one side and the city on the other. Bring water, and take a comfortable pace.

Hiked up here at 5:30am. Steeper than expected but plateaus at the top. While it was too overcast to see the sunrise, what did peak through cast an awesome golden hour on Golden and the surrounding mountains. Lots of early morning bird songs and receding fog on the mountains made for a peaceful climb.

A nice short hike with a steady incline to the top. Some snow and mud after a few warmer days. We completed it at sunset and had a beautiful view of the sun going down behind the mountains.

Very nice trail within a quick drive of Denver. Great views worth the hard push up a steep incline to start. You can also continue and string together up to 17miles or trails in the Jefferson County Open Space. If it's snowed recently (like it has now), microspikes highly recommended going up and down first portion of the trail.

Amazing trail! Super easy walking trail and great for everyone. My friends 18 month old daughter walked part of the incline. Super beautiful views all around. Heavily trafficked trail but everyone was friendly.
