Short and flat loop around Lake Mary in Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. A number of benches and boardwalks provide opportunity to see birds and wildlife around the lake and in the surrounding marshes. Excellent spot for birding. As of July 2020, Colorado is requiring all hikers in Colorado wildlife areas to have a hunting/fishing license before hiking. wonderful lake to visit for a sunday picnic. there are picnic tables in a shaded area for lunch and the route around the lake can be done with a stroller easily afterwards for a family stroll

We were here on Sunday July 7, 2019 and couldn’t do the loop due to large parts of the trail being under construction. Where we could walk was an easy flat boring walk without any great views. It was hot the day we hiked and there is NO SHADE for most of the walk. I do not recommend it. Bird sightings? I don’t think a single duck really counts.

small little lake, currently getting some work done on it. mainly people fishing. I wouldn't spend my time here, but it connects to a few other trails and as a whole the trails are beautiful. lots of birds and cool bugs to see.

A lot of bugs, bridges are a little shaky but are perfectly okay. Very small loop, a lot of people fishing. Very nice and pretty area.

Simple gravel path, still had snow from a storm and that was almost melted through in places. Lake still frozen.

it was a simple flat trail along the edge of a small lake. There were nice bridges and good for a little bird watching. but not very exciting

My husband and I completed this hike on April 7. This is a flat, quick trail around a duck pond, essentially. It was fun to be near the water and check out the wildlife. Most interesting part is the bridge where you cross the water for a couple hundred feet! Easy, short hike that would be enjoyable for kids or seniors.

Really nice walking trail around the lake and through the marshes almost at water level. Saw bison, deer, rabbits, prairie dogs, owl, herons, egrets, woodpeckers, and lots more.
