The map says the trail goes around the lake but you have to walk next to the highway and through town to complete the circle.

Good trail for the kids. Not hiking but a nice walk around the lake. It still had a bit of snow/ice in the shady parts but great walk.

Beautiful lake, very popular with fishing. Didn't realize the walk didn't go all the way around the lake so ended up climbing through some rocky, slippery areas on the edge of the lake by the road. Apparently it's private property on that side so you'll want to turn around.

not really hiking as much as walking. beautiful lake and stream and super easy to walk. not as long as I'd like but you can also rent boats for the lake. very family friendly and laid back. parking is 6$ cash only in the parking lot. it was an enjoyable afternoon walking with my headphones on. Bishops castle is a few miles down the road to check out and make a day of it.

We walk this lake often, it is gorgeous and sacred. Unfortunately there is a lot of trash left behind by fisherman. The other day we picked up a 20 gallon bag packed to the brim. I plan to continue to help the park system keep this lake beautiful and clean.
