$25 fee to get into RMNP. Bathrooms at the trails head. Trail head is at Bear Lake, the trail starts to the left. The entire hike was snow packed and icy. Crampons made the hike a piece of cake. Views are amazing! Extreme wind conditions at the top. Definitely doing this hike in the summer to enjoy the lake.

Great day to be out, but even better if you had micro spikes. The trail is quite icy and people without traction seemed to be slipping quite a bit.

Gorgeous lake views. We went to Dream Lake and Emerald Lake before, and this was definitely the most beautiful (and was significantly less crowded)! Plus, there are big boulders by the lake that are super fun to climb on.

Trail was so busy with people at first it was pretty unpleasant. Once you pass Bear Lake and get on the trail to Haiyaha, it is better. This is a really easy hike. Took us about an hour and a half. Great views once you get to the lake.

I really wanted to give 4.5. A totally awesome hike thru snow and ice (shout out to Outdoor World for advice and crampon rental) to reach the lake. Last 100-200 ft was a boulder scramble with no definite trail. You also have to enjoy the view of this beautiful lake from the boulders.

Maybe we just went at a better time of day than other folks have, but the lake was amazing! Lake was more Emerald than Emerald lake (pictures posted) Ended the day here a little before 5pm. Uphill about halfway, but the views on the last push up are so amazing. Can see several other lakes in the park. The trail was much lighter traffic on a Saturday afternoon compared to Dream and Emerald. The boulders make the beautiful lake even more of a treat.

Start before sunrise to avoid the crowds and get a parking spot at Bear Lake. Pretty easy hike. One part on the edge of a cliff that those of us afraid of heights struggle with but reaching the lake is well worth it. Scrambling over the boulders amd seeing the lake, everyone says "wow." Do it as a loop and take a right on the trail as you leave the lake. It's only a little longer than an out-and-back but takes you into a fantastic, dark pine forest to another beatiful small pond and eventually Alberta Falls.

The hike is beautiful. We hiked this in early October. The day we hiked was extremely windy. Last section of a climb through boulders was epic and scenery was worth a view. We also hiked to nymph, dream ,emerald lakes but this lake is my favourite.

Nice hike. Included Dream and Emerald lakes on the way and finished hike traveling down to Alberta Falls. Boulder surrounded Hiyahah is a beautiful deep green lake surrounded by high peaks. Trails in great condition. Each lake was incredibly scenic. Great 8.5 mile circuit.

Nice hike and probably on the easy side of moderate. You lose the crowd after Dream Lake as most head towards Emerald. Scramble up some huge boulders to get to the lake and not much room or location to sit down. Nice peak views though. Bumped my head on a low hanging branch on one of the pines growing up between the boulders. Ok lake.

I've done this hike countless times to boulder at Haiyaha. Don't listen to the haters elsewhere in this thread. Of course this is a heavily trafficked trail; it's one of the most accessible, beautiful, and easy hikes in the entire park. Pass Bear, Nymph, Dream, Emerald, and Haiyaha lakes with minimal effort on a day hike in the park. Talk to climbers, hikers, and people from across the globe on the first half and enjoy your solitude on the second half. Set up a hammock off to the side and enjoy the park. Everyone getting annoyed at the crowds is off their roll. You're out there enjoying the outdoors too; quit bashing on someone else doing the same. There are hikes in the park that you wont see another soul on for dozens of miles. Go do that if you don't want to see anyone else.

Not to hard. Come from dream lake and do the full loop past glacier gorge trailhead. Worth scrambling past some boulders to see the whole lake.

This trail is poorly represented by AllTrails and a nightmare to visit. This trail is part of a series of trails in the National Park that are the Colorado equivalent of Disneyland. There is a 25$ daily fee, followed by hoards of tourists that must be shuttled around the park because it is so packed. It is a heavily trafficked trail as indicated by the fact that I past upwards of 100 ppl in a one hour window, excluding the masses in the parking lots/shuttles. These novice hikers have not familiarized themselves with basic trail courtesy and stopped their vehicles in the middle of heavily trafficked roads to view wildlife instead of pulling over. The area is indeed beautiful, but this is quickly overlooked due to the big box tourism the area endorses. Avoid.

The lake is beautiful and so peaceful. The trek up from the emerald lake trail has sustained elevation gain for the first half mile before bowing out. This hike is definitely worth it.

We did this hike after Sky Pond, we’re are from MN and weren’t used to the altitude, so we were pretty exhausted during this hike, but it was soo worth it. One of my favorite lakes we saw this trip.
