Not sure why listing says "no dogs", signs indicate "dogs on leash".

Didn’t have any problems with bugs, went midday and it wasn’t overly crowded. Our 6 and 5 year old were able to do the whole thing.

Beautiful hike! Bugs were not a problem when I went between 3pm and 5pm. New favorite city hike for sure! Very few people and very peaceful.

BUGS ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE. No amount of deep forest ultra super mega powerful cutter bug repellant could repel those buggers. Get ready for an arm workout *swats*

This is a great short getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. You get to enjoy panoramic views of the mountains while being surrounded by the great vegetation of the plains. During the Covid-19 pandemic they are limiting car access into the area but I only had to wait a few minutes before the ranger let me through. Enjoy!

Nice, easy walk on a sunny morning! I only saw birds and bugs, in terms of wildlife. But also very few humans, which is a plus in the age of COVID-19.

Awesome wildlife walk. It seems dusk is prime time for animal watching at RMA! The water features are visually refreshing. Super easy stroll.

A wide, flat, normally family friendly trail around a lake with a great view of the front range. Right now, it’s just very muddy and slick. Not much to it. You can do the 11 mile drive around the animal park and see deer, bison and prairie dogs. Fairly busy in the park.

Land acknowledgment: This beautiful space is on the traditional territories of the Cheyenne, Ute, and Arapaho. This was a wonderful easy walk around Lake Ladora. I timed it just right to see the sun go down. Great to see all the restoration taking place. Loved seeing all the prairie grassland grasses and wetland plants in their Winter rest.

Kind of a boring walk. Looks shorter than it is. Flat, can see some water birds. Parts of this walk are very exposed to sun/wind— dress accordingly.

About 25% paved and the rest a packed sand trail. Easy hike for our winter hike.

I came here for a run to find out that running is not allowed anywhere on the trails. I did come face to face with a large buck which was pretty cool. I’ll come back with out of town guests that are looking for an easy walk at our elevation.

Hidden gem amongst the metropolis . Different ecosystems and zones to explore . Barely anyone at the visitor center which was elaborate for the size of this refuge. Had the whole trail to ourselves with a mix of hot spots of sun, chilly winds and plenty of time to reflect and observe the wetlands around us. Bring a lunch or snack , I promise you’ll find a lovely place to enjoy it and hopefully someone . Even came across a family of deer grazing on their dinner . The species of birds are stellar to say the least . Caught a glimpse of the autumn colors and anglers towards the end/beginning of the trail . Highly recommend if you want to escape for your lunch break in the city for a bit of solitude during the weekday 11Oct2019

Flat and quite sunny. there are a few trees for shade close to the trail on the South side of the lake but not much elsewhere. Mostly stroller-friendly except for a couple hundred metres in the North-East side (overgrown weeds).

What a lovely location. A small group of seniors from Broomfield took the Ladora Lake Loop trail. One of our members is wheelchair bound (electric), she said it was a little challenging in a spot or two but rest was great. The day was partly cloudy which made it comfortable for a late August hike; in full sun it would not have been so pleasant. There were no bugs to speak of, which surprised us given some other reviewers. If you haven't been here before suggest you first stop at the visitor center and get a quick bit of the history - definitely enhances your enjoyment of this beautiful open space.

Hiked Sunday July 7, 2019 This trail was ok. It was really hot the day we went and there is only shade on one little part of the trail. There were clouds of bugs. It is an easy flat hike but nothing great to see and really no great views. There were a lot of people there on a Sunday afternoon in July. This trail was nothing special and the lake is not very large. I guess if you want an easy flat hike and don’t mind eating bugs, this will work for you.
