No snow all the way to the lake, great hike for experienced hikers. It is up most of the way, my watch logged 17 plus miles out and back and 4100 climb. Easy trail to follow and some great scenery. Lake was larger than I expected. Never saw 1 person and finished before noon.

Snow currently fully covers the trail at 6.8 miles, 9200ft. I used snowshoes from there to get to the lake and it was slow going.

My husband, Brother in law and I went up this past weekend with my 2 dogs. It was a lot of fun. The hiking is pretty much all uphill so be prepared. We only went a little pass the first bridge in the trail but it was wonderful. The water was very refreshing to dip our feet in and the dogs lived the hike as well.

I did a 20 or so mile, one-night loop in this area in late May 2019. Spent a few hours up top at Carson Lake. Bit of snow up there A lot of elevation gain! Not an easy hike. But absolutely gorgeous. Highly underrated and underappreciated. Late May, early June is a good time, before it gets too warm.

This is a heart pumping trail whether you are on foot or on a horse. its a steady climb all the way to the top. The picture of the lake is called Blue Lake and its off of Indian point trail that meets up with Kannah creek trail at exactly 5 miles up the mountain. The lake is 2 mile further when you get to the indian point cutoff. Its a beautiful trail, but very rocky and not far enough in elevation to cool you down in the summer. great place to see all the fall colors.
