Note: As of June 2019, the road is CLOSED about half a mile from trailhead. An avalanche took out the trailhead area. You can still find your way though. Follow the road to the restrooms and trail map. Still some snow towards the bottom but it is easily managed, and the further you go you will see less and less. The trail is very wide and will eventually come to a fork with three paths next to a pole with no sign. Just go straight onto the smaller path.

This trail was fun but it was very snowy, Rocky and muddy. Nice frozen waterfall at the end. I bet it’s beautiful in the summer and fall. Only saw one other couple on the hike.

Good trail. We started from the lower trailhead off of Gothic Road. Half a mile to hike up mild 4wd road to the actual trailhead for Judd Creek trail. Only half a mile of single track trail to the falls. Nice view of the ranges in both directions, mild elevation gain, and a pretty falls view as a reward. Nice shorter hike to start off a Crested Butte trip!

The cover picture (one of the main reasons I chose this trail) is not accurate - that view was not present, so far as I could tell. The hike was still good and the trail well-kept. The waterfall was worth the short hike. You can keep walking to the left past the lookout to the Maroon Bells Wilderness sign, where you’ll find a nice little split off trail down to the source of the waterfall. I was with family who had a small child, but I suspect I could have made it closer to the waterfall given some extra time.

Nice fall jaunt. Most of it is on a 4WD road and the overlook is not terribly exciting, but good walk overall.

Lovely hike, lots of shade and great views. Waterfall is lovely, but can’t get down to it so just a lookout.

The trail diverts from the map toward the end but the trail is super clear and easy to follow. You will still reach the falls. Enjoy!

If you don’t have an AWD vehicle that can take you to the actual trailhead and you have to start from the parking off the main road just be prepared to add another half mile or so to your journey. There’s a few signs alerting you to this, but in case you don’t see them, there are cattle on this trail. Views are wonderful though and well worth the hour spent on the hike.

This was very nice short hike over some rocky terrain. The water falls at the end are beautiful. A great warm up for longer hikes or cool down after strenuous hikes.
