We did this hike in the heat of July and the trail was still as pleasant as it could ever be. Lots of easy terrain as it's quite a bit of flat rock, and it's just a quick jaunt out and back for a very nice photo opportunity of the canyon.

May 2019 trip to Southwest, fourth visit to CO, last time was only year ago in summer. Day 10 Was in Grand Junction already 22 years ago. Now first time at monument. If you hiked already canyon rim trail at Visitor Center here views are less impressive. However can see up close few monument rock formations.

Very easy trail that leads to a lookout for another viewpoint of the pipe organ, praying hands and independence monument. There are plaques about Mr and Mrs Otto. Unfortunately or fortunately for Mr Otto, Mrs Otto couldn’t hang in the marriage long. I guess she wasn’t much of an outdoorsy gal.

Not really a hike so much as a pleasant walk out to an overlook with stunning views. Well worth the stop.
