From Greta leisure hike for family visiting from out of town! Winding trail through the woods. No “look out” point or real major view of anything but still pretty!

Just completed this trail today (10.11.20). Was definitely an easy trail, and I was thankful to be able to bring my 12 year old dog along, which he loved! I think we missed this trail by a good week or two in terms of leaf peeping; the wind blew most of the leaves off the trees. Think the hike would have definitely been better had the leaves still been on the trees, and I would have given more stars. Otherwise, I agree with recent comments that this trail really doesn't offer a whole lot - no meadow, no overlook, no creek or lake. The mountain views at the beginning were stunning, for sure, but not enough to bring me back. Seeing the Aspens in their full glory would bring me back. Next year, we shall see. There weren't many people at 7:30 in the morning, but the lot was quite full when we arrived back at 10ish.

This was a great trail to see the yellowing aspens. There are quite a few stretches of the trail that are relatively flat making the trail pretty easy. I give it only 3 out of 5 stars because there really isn’t anything to see at the end of the trail, like and overlook or something, it just ends abruptly. I also don’t think this trail would be very interesting if the trees were not changing...

Great trail. The pond was more of a mud puddle and the trail markers in the beginning are confusing. The aspens were very pretty and we saw a moose! Moderately trafficked.

Hiked 9/19/20 around 4pm. Absolutely beautiful start to the trail. Stunning fall foliage. Also saw fresh bear tracks at the first small watering hole and scratches on trees so decided to turn back with our kids.

I tried to do this trail today and the directions and GPS coordinates took me to the Illinois Creek Trail. It was OK but not what I planned. Bummer.

HikingGreat!Private property

Nice, easy hike for us to get acclimated. Beautiful wildflowers and shady spots. Did see more bikers than hikers. Saw a doe. We crossed the road to find the Blue River, sat for a minute, before heading back uphill to get back to the trail.
