This is the out and back portion from the small parking area at the top of McClure pass to the upper meadow on Huntsman's Ridge trail. The trail does continue beyond the meadow. The parking area is marked by a sign reading "Huntsman Ridge 517 Road". This trail is 100% uphill, with several false flat sections. There are plenty of areas to take a break along the way up without impeding trail traffic.

I liked that there are great views after only an hour or two of hiking. We hiked a little past the 2.7 mile mark to reach the peak. I like that the trail continues beyond the peak so we could have continued going farther if we'd wanted to.

Steep 2 miles up but worth it. Stunning views and gorgeous wildflowers

Uphill for the first 2 miles. Very steep in sections. Beautiful views from about 1.5 miles onward. Quiet during the week, but the trail shows heavy ATV (ab)use. It wouldn't be a good one to do if there is still mud...
