awesome. muddy, but that makes it more interesting. pretty icy in places
very cool area. extremely muddy and slushy today! part of the trail was closed after going down the mountain so i added mileage to still make it a loop and connect back to the falls. the falls were amazing! such a cool frozen waterfall! passed lots of people on a sunday and spikes were helpful in a few areas
Great trail to a beautiful frozen fall! Very snowy this morning!
Not completely packed, but very busy for a late Monday morning. Trailhead about half capacity.
Trail was great! There are a few slick spots but nothing too crazy. Also, if you are wanting to do the loop, I suggest not wasting your time right now. Last part of the trail is closed due to nesting birds so unless you want to descend only to ascend again, I suggest going back the way you go up to Horsetooth Rock.
There’s a handful of spots that micro spikes were very helpful! I went day after Christmas (a Saturday) and had to circle the parking lot a few times. Lots of people/dogs but this is a fantastic hike.
Slightly icy. Did not have yak tracks but it was ok. If you have them —bring them.
Hiked on 11/6 doing the loop but with a variation after getting near Horsetooth Rock, went down Audra Culver, then South Ridge and joining up with Horsetooth Rock Trail returning to TH. Audra Culver has outstanding views of the valley below and mountains in the distance. Also saw some deer on the side of the South Ridge Trail. The Wathan Trail going up is a steady uphill workout. Horsetooth Falls was dry this time of year. Overall a good hike conveniently located near Ft.Collins.
very good hike and a well maintained trail with great views along the way and at the top of the rock
This hike is garbage!!! I hate it, me and my family went on it and we lost our dignity. If you ever want to go on a hike I would not recommend this because I stubbed my toes on a rock right next to a tree half way through the hike. This ruined the experience so don't ever go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
