very beautiful in the Spring when there are lots of birds and a beautiful little falls and pond at the end of the trail. This fall, with the lack of rain, the falls and pond were completely dry and there were fewer birds. Overall a really nice hike.

Great hike! Keep your eyes out for rattle snakes, we came across one while hiking. There was no water at the waterfall but I will be returning in spring to hopefully get to check it out!

Love this place. It was shorter than expected because of little ones hiking. But going back to work more of the trails. The view is beautiful

Sadly no water at the falls, but still a beautiful hike

This was a wonderful hike! I recommend it to anyone who wants great views and to get their heart rate up just a little!

A very enjoyable hike!

Really nice, fairly easy hike. Quick elevation changes; the uphills were difficult and the downhills were able to be ran. Saw loads of buck and even a mountain lion in the distance. The falls were all dried up this time of year.

Beautiful views on this trail, but it is much more of a moderate rather than an easy trail, especially if you are not accustomed to the altitude. There is little shade, so bring lots of water.

This trail is beautiful, but it should be marked “moderate” and not “easy”. It was rather strenuous. Especially if you are not used to higher elevations. S

nice hike but falls were about a dribble but still beautiful views

Fun loop trail. The falls are pretty meager though. Skip the little spur to the base of the falls.

Very little shade, a bit rocky. Recommend going early in the season to see a waterfall. It was just a trickle. Also, recommend going earlier in the day it was pretty hot. Nice hike though!

Trail run

We hiked loop counter clockwise. It was aerobic & took side ridge up to the loop. Pretty exposed & hot by 10am. Short climb up granite HorseTeeth for west vista. Near end of loop to Lower waterfall wading pool it was 1’ deep & enjoyed waterfall trickle & cooling our feet. Upper pool was filled with water & a skinny fellow dipping. Pretty flowers & yellow cactus blooms along path to waterfall. Weds parking avail 10am. Dozen other friendly hikers w/dogs on leash. Rec Early Spring or Fall cooler times.

Great for kids but very little shade. Great reward at the end when the falls are flowing and kids can take a dip in the pool.

Pros: -good views -option to go to the top or bottom of falls with different experience and nice views if you go up top -good beginner trail. Fair amount of families so even little kids can go -large parking lot with water and bathrooms available at beginning -can extend and go on Rocky Trail as well Cons: -little shade -no water or garbage bins on trail -mountain bikers also allowed -falls were pretty but nothing special -$9 day pass -decently busy Tips/Advice: -bring lots of water, sunscreen and hats/shade -some spots with decent incline but overall doable even for young kids -poor signal with Verizon or TMobile so download maps prior -not a lot of food nearby until leaving Horsetooth -took about 2.5 hours for four 30-year olds who are moderately active (5'9"-5'11" and 160-180 lbs)

heavy traffic, nice view

Nice easy trail with a fun destination. I liked being able to go to both the top and bottom of the falls which provided for some awesome views. Wildflowers are coming out making the landscape pop with color.

We went around 10 am and there was a decent amount of parking still. Pretty decent amount of traffic but not enough to feel rushed or bogged down. Great views the whole way. Spotted several deer on the second half of the trip out. The falls were clean and a nice break before making the trip back down to the trailhead.

Easy trail for kids and beginners. Trail was trashed at the falls. Dog poop bags left in the water, fast food trash and other various forms of trash. Please be respectful and responsible and pack out whatever you bring in. We arrived early 8am and the traffic was pretty heavy by 9. Come early to be able to enjoy this trail.

Good, easy hike for beginners and dogs. Pretty views the whole way. The falls are pretty but nothing extraordinary. $9 fee to park. Got to the trailhead around 10am and there was a few parking spots open.

My first time on the trail and I’m definitely going to do it again. You have to get a permit to park, it’s $9 the machine only takes cards. I started at 7:30am on a Monday, finished at 11 and the parking lot is packed. Definitely come early. It’s steep on the way up and definitely a workout. The views are definitely worth it. Also there’s a nice picnic area to eat lunch at when your finished.

Beautiful hike! I've hiked this many times, and it is always popular in the summer. Make sure you get there before 10 am, because it will be very, very hard to find parking, even on weekdays. I usually like to get there around 8 or 8:30.
