Wonderful easy trail tho we only did a few miles in before heading back (bc 10 yo was just well, frustrating. And he did a 5 mi trail to Piney Falls the other day!) Anyhow, myself w a 17 yo and 10 yo enjoyed the great trail, mostly private, w amazing views! Shade from the trees was definitely appreciated! Beautiful wildflowers, forest throughout, butterflies, and again, the views and peacefulness of an uncrowded trail! Do the whole thing if u have time and proper gear and companions. Lol

Encountered mountain lions on trail on two separate instances. It was pretty terrifying. Definitely not a good hike with pets or small children given the big cat presence. Also mosquitos were very bad and trail extremely narrow in some parts.

One of the best we have been on in this area. Great variety of terrain and great scenery. A bit overgrown in areas, but not too buggy. Nice gravel road to trailhead. Did not see many people.

I'm not sure where people found a lake on this trail but there isn't one.. unless there's some unmarked trail that takes you down to a secret lake that's not on this map. No, those 2 bodies of water along the way are not lakes, those are marshes. Anyways, got up to the parking lot around 645am on a Monday and was pleased it was empty. Gorgeous trail that's well maintained, had lots of time to take everything in and explore. Ended up getting almost to the end when I realized the lake was not on this trail and turned around, still went 12.8 miles total so I made it pretty far. Lots of wildflowers right now and it's a nice change to be hiking in mostly covered trail. Looking forward to exploring this area more!

Such an awesome trail. Perfect if you want to get off the beaten path and away from the crowds. To get there you need to drive on a gravel road a short distance and there is a place for parking that worked out well. We didn't make it nearly to the end as this is such a long trail, but this trail was a good challenge with a variety of ups and downs. Totally serene and some of the wooded areas are almost mesmerizing--I would totally recommend this trail!

Best trail I have ever been on. Nice climb up to the beautiful lake. Hiked/climbed up to the snow line. A must see if you get the chance.

Awesome trail with great scenery. Glad I knocked that off my list before winter sets in. Passed only a handful of people in the 5 day hike.
