Excellent. Variety of options to veer off. Beautiful terrain. Kids 9 and 13 handled it.

Beautiful morning walk. For a lovely hour-long hike, I recommend taking the Mesa Trail to the Quarry Pass Trail to Red Canyon Path. This will allow beautiful views of the Garden of the Gods, a reservoir, and the quarry. Leave your car in the second parking lot and hike from the left (east) end of the first parking lot. This is the only hike we did at Red Rock Canyon, but we were amazed at the beauty so close to town.

Awesome trail system... Views are amazing... has some nice elevation change and really didn't see any other hikers once past a mile out. The hike I downloaded was a bit short so took some of the other available trails to add a bit of distance. shout-out to alltrails pro... makes altering a route on the fly easy!

Beautiful - always love Red Rocks. It seems that we choose another path each time we go. So happy that CoS turned the quarry into something we could enjoy time and time again.

While not as popular as Garden of the Gods this is still a very popular attraction and parking becomes limited on busy weekends. Interesting rock formations pop up throughout the hike and are always a nice surprise. Maps are present at most of the trail intersections and help navigate the large trail system in this open space.

Hiked all over this open space covered in beautiful wild flowers and filled with red rock formations. Pretty large trail system but Not overly marked in some areas. There were maps at the beginning but they're slightly confusing. We ended up on a much longer hike than anticipated and endured some rain but it was still worth it!great exercise in an astounding landscape-can't beat it!

Simple and fun with some great views!

There is nothing moderate about this trail IF you hike regularly. It is touristy so perhaps the moderate label is applied using non-hikers as a baseline.

The best for west side riding!

Decent hiking. Fairly easy. Even the trails labeled difficult weren't that challenging. We hiked most of the trails in Red Rock Canyon Open Space in one afternoon.

great area to explore, can be crowded on the weekends, bring water!

Trials were nice, a lot of rock climbers as well as easier climbs for the little ones. Very crowded so if your looking to feel alone and a little lost this would be ideal. Very family friendly however for those looking for an easy fun hike with their children or pups.

Good hike in an open space. Lots of loose granite so wear good shoes.

My boyfriend and I have hiked in red rock canyon many times - there are many trails you can take to keep it fresh. Some trails are through forest, and some go through the prairie. The views of the canyon are gorgeous, and can vary from east to moderate. The hogback trail can be taken up onto a rocky uprise for a good view of the springs, and it is overall an easy hike.

Nice and easy hiking trails; have done several of these. It's been a couple years but we plan to go back soon since there are many more Geocaches placed in the area since we last hiked here.

Great place to hike with the kids. Several rock cutouts from the quarry days are funn to explore. Lots and lots of trails and not too many people.

A great series of trails. Nice scenery and several geo-caches.
Saw a coyote right as I entered the park, was past by a deer close by as I went through some rough, and saw another coyote in some other rough.

As others have said, it's quite like Garden of the Gods, but much less traffic. There was some volunteers repairing the Contemplative Trail while we were there. There were quite a few people on bikes and with dogs. I definitely plan on coming out again and trying some of the different trails.

Called easy but some of the longer trails were at a steep incline. Great for exercise and worth it for the views. Saw a deer - stopped right in the pathway.

Conveniently located just off Hwy 24. There are a few fairly short loop trails on location to choose from. Good for a quick early morning or late afternoon hike. There is plenty of open space so consider the heat factor. Best part it's located right by Rudy's BBQ so you can totally chow down after you're done!

I love Red Rock Canyon because it is absolutely beautiful. I went with my brother,12, and it was nothing short of an adventure!! When you first enter the park there is a pavilion with bathrooms and shade, just past that to the right is a what looks like a pond. DO NOT TRY TO WALK THROUGH IT!!! We thought the mud was all dried up, but did not know how to go around so we attempted to walk through it. Although not the greatest idea to begin with, we learned our lesson because we got stuck in the mud and were covered up to our knees in it. Unfortunately we did not get to experience the actual walk because we used up so much effort getting unstuck. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful place.

Beautiful canyon! We very much enjoyed this hike. The kids were especailly fancinated by the carved stair case! There was a huge cave that we somehow missed by taking the wrong trail...It's all good! We are going back this weekend to find that cave!
