Start from the Highland Lakes Trailhead on Cunningham Gulch and hik up to Highland Mary. Work your way up to the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) to the headwaters of the Rio Grande. Next is Stohy Pass and Cunningham Gulch and then back up to the trailhead to pick up the car.
