Great 1/2 day hike. Went on a Sunday morning picnic and had most of the lake to ourselves. The road getting to the trailhead was pretty rough for a passenger car.
This trail is in Nathrop, it begins where the Alpine Tunnel trail head begins. At the end of CR 295. I hiked but 4wd were all over the place and one can drive almost to the lake. There are a lot of old buildings falling down from the town of Hancock which existed from 1880-1910. When the railroad pulled out. The hike was easy short.
