Drove this trail in late September, 2019 and greatly enjoyed its spectacular views of surrounding mountains. We started on West side, over Hagerman pass and descended to Turquoise Lake. For the most part, it’s easy to slightly moderate - depending on your experience and vehicle. It starts pretty rocky from the point where Frying Pan Rd splits into 105 & 527 and stays mostly so until tree line. Then it’s all dirt small rocks through the pass and turns into another bone shaking experience on decent – more rocks/boulders – almost until the parking lot next to Windsor Lake trailhead. Overall, my bone stock Xterra handled it very well, just wish I deflated its tires a bit to make the drive less shaky :)

One of the most amazing trails in Colorado! Long winding trail and covering some of our most beautiful country. This trail is amazing in Summer with wildflowers and Fall for leafing colors. The trail is not very difficult, we did it in our family Ford Expedition EL, so not small or lifted and it was fine, had to go slow in a few spots but otherwise a now issue since it was an old railroad bed.

Went over pass from the west going to Leadville on 8-20 in a stock 99 S-10 Blazer. No issues at all. Great trail for beginners.

Drove Forest Road 105 from Leadville over Hagerman to Frying Pan Road. Trail up to the top was bumpy but in good shape. Got lucky at the top with two bulldozer plows making a path through about 13 feet of snow (they had not opened the gates until 1pm today). Slick and muddy but was able to make it through easy. After that it's downhill and easy. One really muddy patch. I kept left and made it through. The creek pass near the end was about 10-12 inches deep. I have 31s on a Wrangler with no lift. Said and done about 5 hours from Leadville to Aspen.

Did this pass June of 2018. I’m an amateur at trails, so i didn’t go up all the way. Started at Turquoise Lake and went up from there. Great views, path, and smaller walk ways off of it.
