A fun, shorter hike. Easy going most of the way up, but sneaks up on ya at the end with some solid incline. Awesome views at the top!

HikingGreat!

We got there at 9:30 on a Saturday, 9/19. We were able to get parking along the road without having to pay a fee. There is part of the road that lies in the fee area. You drive up Flagstaff Mountain for about 6 miles, so you do feel like you’re getting up into the mountain and away from Boulder. It took us about two hours. We had the trail mostly to ourselves on the way up. The summit had quite a few people on it because there’s the other trail that meets up there. On the way down we passed parties. It is definitely on the easier side of moderate. Great views and luckily the fire haze was not too bad. Lots of shade so great on this hot days

Really beautiful hike with great views. Last 1/4 mile is steep and rocky to the summit. Not too tough except for the last bit.

This was a really beautiful hike ( conveniently located close to Boulder) with not a lot of people on the trail. You End up at a super cool look up point in the top. Pretty easy trail until the last 15 minutes or so of the hike. At that point there’s a lot of boulders=Totally worth it though!!

Great hike with a workout included! Last .3 is a straight incline but the view is great. Also love that there are clearing by the path on the way up to see other beautiful views of the mountains! Also great with a dog, I highly recommend taking your dog because it will force you to keep pace.

I like this trail and have done it a few times, it is a nice afternoon hike since it on the west side of the mountains. It is an easy hike until the last half mile where it gets much steeper and rockier. Yesterday I was fairly annoyed. Not a single person yielded for me, the uphill hiker. People were generally ok about mask use but I made sure to have mine on as people were just barreling down on me.

pretty tame hike, there’s lots of shade which is really nice. the last .2 miles are steeper than the rest of the trail but it wasn’t nearly as bad as i expected based off the other reviews, it was basically just stairs of rocks. would be a good hike for before work to wake up or for after work to decompress! good for families and dogs

HikingGreat!Rocky

Green Mountain West is a 4-mile trail just outside of Boulder. This is a fairly flat trail until you reach Green Mountain. At that point it turns into a steep uphill climb of rocky stairs until you reach the summit. It definitely had my heart pumping and got a good sweat going. At the top, it features a beautiful, panoramic overlook of Boulder on one side and an overlook of many peaks on the other. There's a podium with a plaque of the specific mountains and it also has a small pipe filled with notes from previous hikers. This hike is absolutely breathtaking but not for the faint of heart due to the incline at the peak. The trail was heavily trafficked. Parking is along the road and free, as it's just outside the Boulder city limit.

The trail itself was great! Beautiful and not too difficult until you get to the end. Lots of spots to take pictures. Unfortunately about 60% of the people I passed did not have masks and did not put anything on to cover there face as I passed by. Would avoid this trail unless you go very early.

Had a good time! Started the trail at 5:50ish, missed the sunrise but still had several beautiful views. Incline at the end can be intimidating (we’re from out of state too lol) but doable and worth it too. It was a fresh morning but we still busted a sweat! Passed maybe 4 people in the early morning, saw more around 8/9, along with quite a few dogs! All were friendly. Have to come back and make it on time for the sunrise!

Overall a nice hike. Got a little hot on the way back (we finished around 11 AM). Take lots of water for your puppies as no streams or lakes for dogs to enjoy/cool off.
