Pretty foothill hike. We went on a 55 degree Saturday in January and there was a lot of mud and snowy sections. Totally doable but be prepared to get dirty. Rolling hills scenery with views of Denver, the Flatirons and Golden.

We enjoyed the hike but were rather surprised it is 6.5, not 4.5, miles. It was muddy in places — but great to be in the sun.

Hiked this on Tuesday 11/5 and it was very muddy, especially by noon with all the sun.

Green mountain? More like yellow mountain. Steep beginning but don't get discouraged it gets easier.

I loved this trail. I was going to do the 4-mile Green Mountain Loop but ended up doing longer 6.5-mile loop. The trail is narrow so need to move aside for bikers/runners but everyone was very courteous and made room for one another. I took my dog and it was a good trail for her. Just be sure to keep your dog on the trail - there are a lot of small, hidden cacti along the edge of the trail. There are signs warning of rattlesnakes. I did not see/hear any but one guy I stopped to talk to said he saw a baby rattler on the trail. Great view from the summit. NO SHADE. Bring a hat/sunscreen.

I took a detour back down to make it more interesting. Very nice early morning / cloudy day hike. Popular with trail runners (only a few hikers or bikers), but not a madhouse.

Moderate is a good rating - some larger hills but overall not difficult to hike. A great trail to get outside for a while if you don’t have time to go to the bigger trails in the mountains!

close to the city, practically empty on a sunday morning, beautiful views. honesty a a hidden gem

This trail is great for a nice easy-moderate work out. It’s close to the curt, but once hiking you’d never know this as it’s serene. Moderate traffic and very enjoyable. A LOT of friendly grasshoppers who will try to catch a free ride on your shirt lol once to the end of the handle, there’s a Snapchat filter that reads “top of green mountain”. Pretty cool.
