Nice loop, but Box O Rox trail does have a long section of loose cobble river stones just off the ridge

Cool trails with great views. I ran over a pretty big rattlesnake with my mountain bike so keep an eye out for yourself and your dogs

6/16/20 – Nice incline on a wide dirt/gravel trail. No shade. Fair amount of bikers, but easy to share the trail. Pretty views at the top.

A pretty exposed gravel climb that makes for a nice leg-burner on limited time. Saw a coyote and a pronghorn. Definitely recommend getting there early / late in the day to avoid crowds.

Nice trail- did it on late February. Would absolutely recommend wearing yaktrax but otherwise a fairly straightforward hike.

The trail is really a dirt and gravel road. Lots of bikes and a better bike path than hiking trail. Good incline, so good leg workout, and a good trail for winter - lots of sun so trail was dry.

Hiked on 12/27. Great trail! We didn’t follow any specific trail route. Just parked at Forsberg Iron Spring park and walked across the street. We went counter clockwise from where we started and this was a good idea. The trail was muddy and snowy in some spots, but easy to go around or walk through. No special shoes needed. The view at the top is great.

Sunrise hike with beautiful views of downtown Denver. Took just over an hour. Fairly steep on the way down, which was slightly challenging with dogs on leash and lots of rabbits in the early morning :)

Uphill was definitely tough. The down hill was easy. It is rocky on the path. You also share the path with mountain bikers. Cool view of Denver at the top.

First to Review

Went on a sunny day in January. Trail was wide and easy to follow to the top. Cell tower at the top but you can still see downtown Denver around it. Got distracted on the way down and took Rooney Valley Trail to make it a loop. Snow only in the shaded areas and only wore hiking boots! Would go again for an easy after-work hike.
