Get there early...parking lot was full by 8 am. Green mountain is a great trail...views of downtown, Red Rocks, and the mountains...but the Rooney section is tons of switchbacks and mountain bikers so I’d recommend working your way around the mountain in a different way if possible. Also, start early...no shade at all!

Good dry trail, no shade. There were a couple steeper places where the gravel might cause you to slip a little. Not crazy busy, but saw plenty of people, and many cyclists. Get there early as the lot was overflowing by 9am.

lots of nice flowers to be spotted along this trail! lots of bikers, too. proceed with caution as this trail is pretty narrow at certain points. also pretty rocky throughout, so definitely wear comfy shoes. i’d suggest going counter-clockwise as AllTrails app suggests. great views coming down after the initial incline, and a great hike/workout overall

Beautiful views, really long trail, didn’t research so I was shocked it took me 3 hours to get through the 6 miles on foot.. lots of inclines & declines, so wear good shoes or hiking boots.. Lots of bikers also so constantly moving out of the way

Watch out for bikers who don’t seem to know how to move to the right when on a 10+ foot wide trail and have the audacity to say fuck you. Enjoy!

Great skyline views of Denver to start. Halfway through the trail becomes single track for quite a distance and it can make traversing with bike traffic a bit of stop and go. Regardless a great way to stretch the legs close to home. Parking lot contains a few restrooms.

Great trail, too many bikers

1st ride here on hard tail. Had to stop twice for slow pokes coming up hill. Almost ate shit high speed in corner but saved it

Recommend making an audible to the Rooney Trail and making a loop back once you’re at the top of Green Mountain—adds 1.5 miles but way better views!

This was my first trail back in Colorado after living in Texas for a year and it was a glorious welcome home. Elk, deer, foliage.... all amazing! Quite a few people on the trail, both on foot and in bikes, but it didn’t feel crowded. Several offshoot trails to choose from. I’ll be back soon!

Perfect conditions for spring hike

Trail almost completely dry today.

This was a quick hike but super muddy. Perfect weather for this trail. No shades, bugs so hiking this trail in summer will be brutal. Lots of people for the first mile and half but good wide trail during the COVID-19 social distancing rule. Enjoy! 04/19/2020 #8
