Great in summer. Not accessible year round. Winter it is snow filled. Closed until June 20 for elk migration.

Took the downhill route starting off of Wood Run road at Snowmass. Prettiest wild flowers of any hike I've been on. Long but easy. Took 4:15 to get to Aspen Rec Center. Anxious to do the reverse trek soon just because it's so pretty.

Alpine meadows, small stream crossings, and aspen trees all over. Bring plenty of water if running! Leaned this the hard way. If you want to do a one way, you can take the RFTA back to your start point -or somewhere near it at least.
