Great steady hike with a reasonable elevation gain and some nice views both into the mountains and towards Denver. The trail has some slightly challenging areas throughout but overall is moderately difficult and a good pick for most hikers. There are trails dedicated to just hiking but some portions do intersect where mountain biking is allowed. We took our dog and there was running water for her to cool off in momentarily. Lots of families on the trails and everyone was extremely friendly. The parking lot was full (Sunday) however there is more than enough space across the park to reduce congestion as you hike; we were by ourselves for more than half of the day.

Muddy and icy for 2 miles, becomes dry dirt for about half a mile, then back to mud, ice in the shadows of the mountain and dirt again. Cacti at the top so be careful. Ice was quite thick and slippery so be really careful. Today was about 50 degrees. Start with a lot of mud, end with a lot of mud. Be ready to wash your legs and dogs.

Easy access from south Denver. Definitely popular but the further up I got, the less hikers I saw. I'd stick to the hiker-only paths as much as possible as the mountain biking paths are more worn/ rocky. Good views of Denver but otherwise, just a convenient place to get in a few miles.

Surprisingly nice hike on a sunny and warm Friday. Snowy and muddy in places but nice to have several segments without mountain bikers. Great view from the summit too.

Sunday Feb 12th: Took Plymouth Creek Trail to Golden Eagle to the Top of Bill Couch Mtn. 7 miles round trip. Trail was mostly dry and clear of snow and ice.. good conditions for February! First 3 miles is all steeper and rocky..but very doable. The first mile is in the open, but goes into pine forests. Great views from many vistas towards the top. Bonus is the facilities by the parking lot are clean and newer, with several Picnic pavilions!

View at summit is well worth the hike up. Not too intrusive. A little rocky in places. Maybe not for beginners, but ultimately a great hike.

Easy spur from Red Mesa Loop. Takes you to the top of a small peak for great views both east and west.
