Great trail with a mild incline the first couple of miles. Perfect for someone who doesn’t live at altitude and is in the process of acclimatization. Beautiful vista views after mile two. Lots of trees down because of logging and infestations, but this allows for gorgeous views of the peaks.

Awesome trail! Did it from copper to Breckinridge.

If you are doing the entire CT it's ok, but for a section hike wait a few years until all the trees grow back from clear cutting.

Not sure if I'd do this one again. Yes, it's far away scenery is beautiful but all the dead trees and the trucks nearby dampened the peace you have with hiking. Trail was ok condition wise. It is listed as easy here but moderate on the page at the trailhead. What we did was pretty easy.

Beautiful views (and also active logging). Saw a few mountain bikers on the trail.

Not a very pretty hike. They’ve cut down most of the trees so you’re pretty much just following a very muddy trail in a field. Once you’re at the top of gold hill, you finally get into the trees and forest-like setting but only for a bit. That part is the only thing this trail has going for it.

Good trail. Lower area is very muddy and higher area is mostly snow covered. Still in decent condition for hiking.
