This is a very easy hike. We took a group of Cub Scouts around the American Bison Trail and then up to the summit. Not a lot of variety but some nice views. They especially enjoyed seeing the bison herd! Longer than 1.1 miles if you incorporate the American Bison Trail.

Nice easy quick walk suitable for dogs on leash. Great views along the mostly wooded/shady trail. Trail head has picnic and restroom facilities.

Ok. Trees block the view to the west, but you do get some south/southwest openings. Can't really see into the heart of the mountains. It was a cloudy day so maybe we got the wrong impression.

Nice elevation to start. Not to hard. Great views at the summit. Lots of other trails to go off on too.

First off the trail is more than 1 mile. Some of the trail follows Genesse Mountain Rd & by the highway, which I didn't like for the noise factor. Enjoyed the views on American Bison Trail & enjoyed the quick steep climb to Genesse Mountain Summit. Overall it's a nice quick hike close to home & I will come back when I'm needing my nature fix, but can't venture out too far into the mountains.
