This is a beautiful trail. The snow is deep right now. Most of the trail is packed except the back section which seemed to be less traveled. The views are amazing. There are several different ways you can go to get to the actual cabin. This is the long scenic version. We clocked just under four miles to the cabin. Note: you must have a reservation to approach or enter the cabin.

My husband , 14 yr old son and I hiked this in April . Thou snow shoes would of helped We hiked along with some cross country skiers so the snow was packed enough that we could hike in our regular snow hiking boots . It was a great hike with spectacular views . Stopped at the top and ate our lunch . Took longer than expected and be sure to bring hiking poles but definitely worth it . Probably much easier during the summer .
