neat windy trail that went through the woods. It passed by two ponds. Lots of restrooms, gazebos, and facilities. Dog park with playground.

lots of fun! when you come in at the trail head we went right instead of left, so the sharp incline was actually downhill for us, but it didn't matter, still tons of hills! lots of fun for beginners, especially ones new to altitude. gives you a good mix. dont be alarmed if your hands swell!

Great trail. Nice variety of elevation gain from steady slopes to a hefty climb 3/4ish of the way through if you start going right.

Very nice trail. After leaving the ponds the incline is step. You will need to sit on the bench to catch your breath when you reach the top. We did!!

Leisurely stroll with lots of shade. No lack of hills and dales. Trail itself moderately busy with many hikers with dogs, several riders on horses and a mountain biker. Playground and lake areas particularly busy despite it being a weekday. Trail had many informative placards with info on the area’s flora, fauna and history. Many benches along trails and picnic tables near parking lots. Upper pond had turtles, koi and crayfish. Wide trails made distancing easy, but park is crisscrossed by many trails so had to refer to map/app many times to stay on track. Great for family outing and would recommend for trail running.

It’s a nice stroll in the park place. Probably an ideal trail running stop if you’re into that sorta thing. Lots of shade lots of trees.

We went with our 5 and 3 year old and I am also heavily pregnant. The first section of the trail was fun (about a mile or so), kids loved climbing on the tree stumps. Then you open up to the creek kids can play in, the two ponds, and playground. Great place to stop for a picnic. It was the second “half” that was not as pleasant. I don’t think the 3.1 mile distance for the whole loop is accurate. We clocked closer to 4 miles when all was said and done, which was too much for the little ones. Also, our service for the All Trails app was spotty here so it is easier to go off trail on this second half. Next time we’ll hike the first part, play at the pond/playground area, and hike back the way we came. The whole loop was longer than expected, and the second half wasn’t as nice as the first part anyways.

Beautiful area. Tad crowded. So close and easy. The bench on top with pikes view-could stay there for hours.

Very easy hike through the woods. Nice pond around the halfway point. Benches throughout the trail. Minimal horse poop and mostly well maintained trails with some washout. Went around 5:00 on a weekend and didn’t run into many people hiking which was nice. Would be a really fun Mountain bike trail.

easy trail but easy to get off the trail. not marked enough to keep most of people on trail. Horse poop at places but nothing too annoying.

This park was probably nice around like 3 years ago but it’s just a mess of trails. I attached a picture of a biker literally biking through the middle of the park completely off the trail with 2 dogs running behind him. No wonder so many trails here are in horrible condition. Got to the parking lot at 10am on a Wednesday and it was nearly full... if you do decide to go on this trail try it clockwise. Miserable day that would’ve been better spent in the mountains rather than this park. The playground, field, and lakes themselves were okay, nice for a picnic or bbq. We saw around 4 people wear masks out of around 20/25 people met on the trail. The overwhelming smell and amount of horse crap on the trail the entire time was also a major pain to hike with. Overcrowded, poorly maintained, overrated trail system. Go to red rocks, pulpit rock, or even Austin Bluffs for an immensely better experience.

This is an easy hike but it can be confusing. There are multiple trails that can shorten your hiking or extend your hiking. Lot’s of trees that helps shading you. There’s a slight hill near the ponds that you had to go through depending where you started. Multiple hikers later in the morning and on Saturday. Plenty of wild flowers surrounding some of the trail. Many pine cones on the path of the trail.

Beautiful trail. The parking lot was almost full when I got there at 10:30 am on Monday, but the park is large enough that I barely ran into any people. Lots of smaller trails that branch off of the main trail so be sure to pay attention to the markers. I stupidly got lost my second time there.

Nice family hike with our kids on our backs. Nice ups and downs, great view of Pikes Peak and a stop at the top of a good hill with a bench. Not overly crowded. People did a great job with their dogs on leashes and picking up after them.
