Beautiful trail. The parking lot was almost full when I got there at 10:30 am on Monday, but the park is large enough that I barely ran into any people. Lots of smaller trails that branch off of the main trail so be sure to pay attention to the markers. I stupidly got lost my second time there.

Nice family hike with our kids on our backs. Nice ups and downs, great view of Pikes Peak and a stop at the top of a good hill with a bench. Not overly crowded. People did a great job with their dogs on leashes and picking up after them.

Beautiful morning to take this hike. A little snow falling, no other cars in the parking lot. Only gripe is trail's proximity to roads; makes it hard to get away from car noise. Didn't really need spikes until the last little bit of the loop. Unfortunately, I figured that out laying on my back after losing my footing. One hour later doesn't appear that anything is permanently damaged! Be careful out there.

I live 10 min away so this makes for a good stretch of the legs when I need to get a run in under an hour. 95% shaded, lots of people walking dogs, and a gut punch of a climb at 2.6 (going CW). Mostly packed dirt and small gravel, some sand. Not a lot to see.

Good place to bring your dogs, and a fairly decent hike, too.
