If you take this trail counterclockwise the steep portion is around 2 miles. I was told this was the easier route to take. Trail conditions were packed and it was an easy snowshoe. Plan on between an hour and a half to two hours plus depending on how many stops you make to enjoy the views.

Quiet hike - trail is not well marked, but plenty of open space to pick a route in the tree line, across the meadow, or along the brook. Saw Elk in the meadow along with various birds. If you like solitude and a chance to pick any route, then you may enjoy this one.

We went July 2017. Beautiful wildflowers but there is no trail. Terribly marked. We went to the visitor center and they said that this trail is better kept in the winter for skiing

This is a really beautiful hike, however, there is absolutely no trail after the first .25 miles. We used GPS and did see trail markers at times but never with associated trail. We went in late June, great meadows, early but nice wildflowers. Very wet and unavoidable marsh in several areas. This might be a lot nicer in August though you'll still need to use gps to find your way.

Great snow and trail! A bit steep at the very beginning. We snowshoed, but would be a fun xski!
