A short, paved walkway leads to an observation platform offering view of vast Forest Canyon, where the erosion work of glaciers is clearly evident, and a look at the peaks of the Continental Divide beyond. Near the overlook, watch for pikas, marmots, and other small mammals.

An easy trail providing pretty amazing views of Forest Canyon and beautiful snow covered mountains. One of the many turn outs on the Trail Ridge road, provides sweeping views of alpine tundra. We saw couple of Marmots when we were here.

A short, paved walk to an pretty overlook with amazing views of Forest Canyon below and beautiful snow-covered mountains on the opposite side (even during our visit in late July), as well as sweeping views of the rolling alpine tundra behind you. We stopped here twice on back-to-back days exploring the Trail Ridge Road and had two totally different experiences weather-wise...the first as a late-day summer storm was passing through (cold, very windy, misty/foggy and wet) with the next afternoon sunny and gorgeous.

Rainbow Curve is the last turnout before the tree line and we could see the road winding up above us, with fields of alternating bare green tundra and white snow. Famous for the high winds in this area, we were fortunate to have a fairly calm day. Forest Canyon Overlook (elevation 11716 feet) was one of our favorites, where we took the short paved footpath lined with beautiful rock and tiny tundra flowers and lichens, down to a platform that was surrounded by ominous craggy mountains with a huge drop off to the forest covered valley below. Great short stop on TRR.

This short trail is very nice and has wonderful views looking down into the canyon/valley below. This trail should only be used independently by very strong wheelchair users. It is very steep in areas(12%+ slope). It is a good trail but the wheelchair accessibility is lacking.

Spectacular views of Forest Canyon and of tundra wildflowers. Elk are frequently visible from the overlook and it's a great place for a photo.
