Disappointing- I was excited to see a trail within walking distance from my house but I don;t think I will be going back. No great views, crowded and TONS of aggressive/rude bikers and runners! Wish more people had trail etiquette but that seems to be disappearing with the more people that crowd our local trails. I don't think I would even consider this a hiking trail. If you want a decent hike check out any other trails in the area and you will probably have a better adventure.

Heavily trafficked by bikes. Dogs are allowed, but won’t be taking mine back. Trails were too narrow and we couldn’t get out of the way of the bikers many times. Many were rude and essentially demanded right of way.

Heavily trafficked, but a great, easy hike just outside our doorstep.

Love this trail for a quick solo hike. Once you get to the other side you can cross the street and watch the boats on the reservoir. There are always deer here when we go!

Highly populated trail, dogs galore and xc mountain bikers. Avoid weekend outings on the trail if you can, but nice view of Horsetooth reservoir and the town of Fort Collins at the top. Have to pay to park.

Beginner mountain biking trail. Not too difficult if you have the right bike.

Good trail, and i could have hiked it no problem having been hiking and biking for about a month or so. but my friend who has not hiked since 6th grade had a LOT of problems getting up the hill once we started going up the steep rocky part.

this is not a beginner hike, though the beginning of the hike was almost like a nice walking trail.

on average it is a moderate hike, with the beginning being easy, and the end being hard.

A little trouble finding the trailhead. It's a small dirt road right before the left to head up to horsetooth reservoir. Trail starts flat and hoes past the CSU football stadium. Made it about half way before it started to get dark. Next time will start earlier

A great hike going up, with a steady incline. Very nice to see the A, and the view of the reservoir was incredible.

Klaus (my puppy) and I did the short route toward the north end of the trail, recently. The elevation change was relatively easy to manage and the views are good ones. As a photographer, I think this would be a great destination to get awesome sunset shots without having to travel too far from humanity...

nice, shorter trail that gets you a great view of the reservoir.

Known as the "A" Mountain Trail, this trail cuts across the prairie and has a few switchbacks up the foothills. Offering great views of Fort Collins to the east and Horsetooth to the west, this local trail (although very busy) is easy to get to and great for jogging on a warm afternoon.
