this rating is for the poor description and the super tiny warning.

I am an employee that works at Farish. We have been getting a few people coming up to hike the trails that do not have Military I.D. Just wanted to reiterate that our facility and hiking trails are for Military and DOD Civilian card holders only. Also we are not open year round. We are open from the beginning of May to the end of October. Give us a call if you have any questions 719-687-9098. Thank you!

NOW CALLED PEAKVIEW TRAIL - Beautiful trail with not too much exertion for those not used to 9000' elevation. New signage, the trail starts from the end of one of the fishing ponds. Traveling clockwise is my recommendation, as the elevation gain is gradual and the decent at the end into a beautiful mountain meadow is a great payoff. Pikes Peak views at the end if going clockwise, beginning if not.

The trail was closed, not accessible year round and only for military. I am not rating this based on the trail, but rather the poorly worded description on the app. If it is winter or you are not military do not waist your time driving to this trail.

Farish Recreation Area is for military and DOD civilians. The trails are absolutely gorgeous but signs could using improvement so pay attention to your map! We passed a trail connection and walked past it for almost a mile until we turned around and back tracked. We found it but you could hardly tell if the split was the one we were supposed to take. Good for us, it was the right one the second time around! Breath taking views of Pikes Peak beautiful landscapes, boulders, trees and flowers and wind sweet with mountain sage. We went in September and the weather was perfect for crawling around all day. I can't wait to go back!

Farish Recreational Area is for military personnel only :( We drove over for nothing. It's pretty out there and the people that man the shop say there is good fishing.

Kudos to all military out there. THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!!
