Recommend this trail to beginner hikers, or bring out of town guests not acclimated to altitude. Easy, wide trail mostly dirt roads, with slight hill early in hike to get heart going if you take North loop first (better views this direction... counter-clockwise). Lots of small rocks. Wear hiking boots. Distant Flatirons and wide meadow views. $5 parking fee, unless your car is registered in Boulder County.

Easy, but good views. Lots of loose rocks/ boulders on the trail. Otherwise great condition.

Trail was fine. Bathrooms were horrible, the worst we’ve ever encountered. Seems like the city of Boulder would do something about this!

Nice stroll with a new perspective of the Flatirons. Be mindful of bikers as they make their way towards Doudy Draw trail. Be sure to bring $5 cash if you're not a Boulder resident!

There was a lot of gravel size rocks on top of a lot of larger rocks which would cause you to lose your footing or roll your ankles. The view is gorgeous, I probably won’t do this one again.

Great trail for someone new to hiking. Would recommend getting an early start as there was lots of sun in the afternoon with little shade. Would also be a great evening hike. Great openings with views of the flatirons.

Solid entry level hike. Only down sides were loose rock and the view of a power plant on the south side of the loop. Bring cash for parking if you’re plates aren’t registered in Boulder.

I did this as a trail run a few days ago. Loose rock along most of the trail was challenging to run on, but I am an inexperienced trail runner. This trail is very flat (except in the beginning) and have some great views of the flatirons.

Pretty and fairly easy hike. Unshaded first part. Wildflowers are popping now. Got there about 8:30 on a weekend and got the last "regular" spot. When I returned the entire other lot marked horse trailers only was full of cars, and I was stalked by waiting cars for my spot. Typical. Lots of bikes which can be a pain for hikers. View is gorgeous and very close for those in Boulder/NW Denver metro. Worth doing once, or more if you live nearby and want to only take a couple hours out of your day. $5 to park if your plates are not registered in Boulder.

Good hike! Great for beginners and newbies getting into hiking! Extremely easy trail with very nice views of the vistas. I prefer to be engulfed in the mountains; trekking through and reaching summits all the while taking in the scenes of the outlooks and panoramic views the landscapes have to offer, but this was an enjoyable hike for what it is. The scenery is very serene. You get to enjoy many various sites of the landscape during the hike. Nice backdrop of the Flat Irons with rolling prairies of high grass and wildflowers. Great hike for beginners and definitely an easy one for those interested in some trail running around the Boulder area.

I took some out of state friends who do not hike here, and it was a good fit for them. It’s shady, plenty of wildflowers and lovely views. Great trail for people who don’t really hike much

Extremely easy trail. Flat for a significant portion, but the view of the Flatirons is beautiful. Would be a great walk to take the dogs or the family on, or go for an easy trail bike ride.

Not sure why it is indicated that there is scrambling involved on this hike. It was mostly flat and gravel. There were some trees and a little bit of shade during the last half. It was kind of boring, but the wildflowers were pretty. There is a view of a mine on the way back and you can hear a bit of a buzz from traffic during the beginning and end of the hike.

Walked/hiked today (Saturday) and enjoyed the views and wildflowers! The parking lot was over half full by 8 am, parking fee is $5. Trailhead area was crowded with mostly bikers, but cleared out as we walked. I think this is a great trail for kids/families. Trail is mostly exposed to elements, but had a few minutes in trees and shade. We finished trail in 1 hour, 20 minutes. I’ll do this trail again because of views and proximity, but will probably add on other trails to add length.
