You have to cross water multiple times and the trails had not been cleared in a long time. It was too boggy and difficult to navigate. We saw some deer and of course beautiful views. The road to the trail head was really great too.

From trailhead, the first 1/2 mile is a little steep but the hundreds of columbines keep you moving! Once you get past there, the view of Mummy Ridge is great. You will go through several meadows full of wild flowers! We stopped just before the footbridge at 5+ miles because heavy thunderstorms were moving in (around 1:30pm). If you are into the possible calorie burn, I hit 1221 for a three hour hike (5'10", 172 lbs.). May seem a little wierd, but I like hiking not only for the scenery, but for the calorie burn!
