Trailhead is right by the busy Pena blvd on the way to the airport. Have to walk about a half mile along the service road until you get to the real trailhead. The actual trail is pretty, not too much shade along the creek and then opens up with views of the mountains in the distance.

this trail does allow dogs.

Loved this trail it was 4 miles out and back. There was a nice look out point at the end (2mile mark). The trail was pretty decent, there were a couple of prairie dog holes. Turning trees during the Fall = great colors. We went on a Wednesday morning and the trail was pleasantly unoccupied
