One of the only trails open to running in the RMA area, this will be a quiet trail that presents the Front Range and the Great Plains from an oft overlooked location. Flat for a speedy run.

It’s a nice peaceful walk, nothing difficult, saw deer, rabbit and prairie dogs. Not crowded at all, passed 4 bikes, everyone extremely pleasant.

Fun easy hike for the whole family. The actual trailhead is about 1/2 mile from the parking lot. At the end, the is an overlook where you can view the expanse of the arsenal.

Great little trail. I rode a bike from my house and used it on the trail. Awesome view of the front range and skyline of Denver!

So this app sucks because it said we could ride our bikes and everywhere on the property says walking only or you can drive around. What a waste of a drive... we really wanted to ride our bikes

Nice trail. A bit busy but easy to avoid everyone on. Saw several herds of Bison or Buffalo, which was absolutely phenomenal!

Ok if you have a dog you walk the outside trail. Lots of prairie dogs so make sure your dog is really secured. Lots of wildlife, there’s buffalo like 700 ft away from you saw some deer. Was a nice walk. Kinda boring. There’s the occasional homeless pets but nothing to bad

Amazing view at the first creek overlook!! Saw 1 bison, 100 deer, lots of prairie dogs. Great for out of town guests not used to altitude. Well marked. Nice ponds.

DOGS ARE ALLOWED. sign clearly states dogs on leash. I walk my dog here very often and see plenty of dogs here. I hiked it today evening they just recently cut the overgrown weeds on the shoulders of the trail and its messy. still fine to hike. Came across a snake, I actually stepped on it accidentally. It was dark and I was hiking it pretty fast due to it was a little late and dark. I step on something really mushy and I turned around and turned on my light and it was a good 2.5' long snake. DOGS ARE ALLOWED.

Decent trail for being so close to the city. We saw deer, hawks, a bald eagle, a snake and tons of prairie dogs.

absolutely love this hike...for a few reasons. first, the 60 degree panoramic views -- uninterrupted by any human development, are spectacular. the prairie seems to unfold all the way to the base of the front range visually, making this a photographer's paradise. also home to a bald eagle, and you can sometimes see the eastern herd of buffalo from the overlook (2 mile hike from parking lot). yes, you can hear Pena Blvd traffic, so maybe wear earphones...but the visuals are fantastic. this hike would be especially nice for anyone that is on their way to the airport and doesn't want to wait around the terminal for another hour. highly recommended.

Pros: Loads of open space and cool creatures to look at in early morning; Cons: Little shade, traffic noise, no dogs on RMA trail. Easy stop to or from airport. Saw one coyote this morning at 7am, it went under the fence into the preserve so we kept jogging. Dog and I went straight out the service road, past the preserve signs, until a chain link fence, then we turned around.

Not a lot to see other than the mountains in the distance with a nice view of Denver. Very flat and can hear the cars zooming by nonstop. It was great coming here to get to do any kind of hike before my flight - beats sitting in the terminal for an extra hour. There is a lookout area but I didn't get to enjoy it since a crew of horseback riders decided to go up there with their horses and take up the area.

The one really cool thing about this hike is at the beginning of the trail where there was a family of prairie dogs (basically groundhogs) with their mounds in a field. Otherwise the hike was meh.

Trailhead is right by the busy Pena blvd on the way to the airport. Have to walk about a half mile along the service road until you get to the real trailhead. The actual trail is pretty, not too much shade along the creek and then opens up with views of the mountains in the distance.
