Parking sucks but other than that it's a fantastic hike! The views are well worth the climb up to the top!

Very pretty trail. We did the flatiron loop- there were plenty of people. Parking was a little full. It’s a steady incline for about a mile.

9/12/2020- what a great hike, its a must do of you are looking for a fun hike within Boulder. It will definitely make you break a sweat but the views of the flatirons and Boulder are worth the effort. There is a good deal of shade as you ascend up the mountain. It gets a little rocky near the top but nothing too bad, good for most anyone and kids. Expect crowds, its a very popular area. Parking is difficult on the weekends, but you can park on a side street a few blocks away for free. I parked on 11th street for free and it was a 5 min walk to the trailhead.

Great, rewarding hike. It is rather challenging because it is always up hill (I was out of breath the whole time going up) and it’s a little slippery going down on some steps. The view at the top was well worth it!

This trail was great! Lots of different trails all linked together. You can choose the trail based on difficulty that works for you. The trails are well marked. The views are spectacular

Fun trail! Agree with other reviews...not marked the best but easy enough to follow. There are a few vantage points to the top that from lower may look like the finish but you can keep going up. To go to the First Flatiron there is a trail that continues on. It doesn’t take you to the top compared to being able to sit very near the top of the Second Flatiron. I witnessed one person fall and several almost-falls from slips going up and down the trail. I didn’t seem to have any issues with my Chacos...so just be aware of where/how you’re stepping!

Headed up for a night hike on 8/27. The parking lot was full but most people seemed to just be mulling around in the meadows enjoying the sunset. Pretty much had it all to ourselves. Left a grey fleece jacket up at a viewpoint below the top :(

A great morning burn. Went with some friends and an 8-month old dog on a Sunday morning. While the lots fill up early, we found easy street parking a couple of blocks from the trailhead. There are a couple of rocky scrambles that we had to carry the dog on and I would definitely get there earlier to avoid crowds but even with it being a weekend, we were able to find some solitude.

Awesome trail. I would say it is on the harder side of moderate, but not too hard. There is a small scramble about 3/4 of the way up, and the trail gets a little steeper after that. Make sure to go all the way to the end. There are a couple of spots where you may think you are at the top. The views are spectacular. Would definitely do it again.

Bouldering is present towards middle/end. Couldn’t take my bigger German Shepard up because it was technical and there would be no way for us to get him down the rocks safely. Small, agile dogs would do fine. Bigger dogs I would be worried at a certain point because you do have to be nimble. Overall a challenging hike for one who isn’t a seasoned hiker. But I loved it and it wasn’t too hard! Wish I could’ve gotten to the top, we were so close!

Beautiful trail, great views of Boulder, moderate hike, but one section in the middle of the hike very steep and narrow-challenging. Midday during the week in July - free and available parking.
