After driving thru a residential area we arrived at a super crowded 4wd trailhead. The actual trail is a jeep road. We hiked up to the lake on a beautiful June Saturday, and shared the “trail” with several vehicles, and their exhaust fumes. Upon arrival at the lake, there was a crowded parking lot. Once you get to the first lake (just above treeline), the cars stop. There is a single track trail up to the second lake, which is above the meadow/willows level and into the talus zone. Not the quiet solitude we were seeking from a “hard, lightly trafficked” trail.
