Hiked with our 8 year old after a big snowstorm down in Denver earlier in the week. Trail was snow packed and a bit muddy but awesome. We left our spikes in the car, and we were fine but it would have been even better to have them just so we could move a bit faster. Also, this says dogs aren’t allowed but they are. Either on leash or with a sight/voice license through boulder.

02/16/19 VERY icy both me and my boyfriend fell in the first five minutes so we bailed and took a trail down the road. Still gave it a 5 Bc it was pretty!

Loved this trail! Pretty easy! Hiked on 2/2 and it was snowy & packed in some spots, but we didn’t use spikes & did just fine! Did 3.71 miles in 1 hr 45 min and stopped to enjoy the view!

Beautiful trail. Not as easy during winter due to no sun. snow takes longer to melt causing the trail to be muddy and icy in some places.

cool. nice views.
a lot people trail running, so might be good for that

A standard for a quick trail running workout in Boulder. Have encountered mud and wasps on the McClintock section in spring, but overall good conditions especially in summer and fall.

Great hike for families. Took our 5 year old and 1.5 year old (in carrier) up this trail and they loved it. Going up McClintock Upper is definitely the more challenging direction for this loop as it's pretty good incline until you reach the Enchanted Mesa trail junction. A few good views, but it's really a nice stroll through the forest and across the Enchanted Mesa. Many trail runners and people walking dogs.

Best View! Not at all tiring, the place motivates to hike more! pleasant surprises at every nook and corner!❤

If you are looking for a more strenuous hike go up the Mcklintock side and come down the Enchanted Mesa side. For a more relaxed hike go up enchanted and down mcklintock.
Either way a great hike!

climbing in the beginning, then in the woods but not much exciting to see.

May hike. Very slight incline but totally doable for my MIL visiting from sea-level. Great views from farther of the flatirons and of the city of Boulder.

FYI, McClintock trail starts just to the left of enchanted mesa; this trail doesn't allow dogs, enchanted mesa does. It then crosses enchanted mesa and keeps going up (still with no dogs); when you hit the end, you can take the loop coming back down on enchanted mesa. So I'd say this loop is about half dogs, half no dogs. Loved it and found the up part on McClintock to be quite challenging - a perfect morning hike with quite a lot of shade!

wife and kid and I (ages 30, 5, 36) started on mesa and came back on McLintock down. had to hold his hand for fear of tripping while going down hill. half shaded during afternoon. will be back again.

Positives: Gorgeous trail with diverse views and lots of options to make it shorter or longer. Kids enjoyed climbing the rocks and trees, which were plentiful. The “enchanted” name is well-earned, with curved trees, riots of wildflowers, tall green grass, and a magical feel in some spots. Several options for shade along the way. No mountain bikers to avoid. Would be a great trail for inexperienced hikers, or a quick option for showing visitors how beautiful the Flatirons are. If you’re looking to walk along more of a hiking path and less road, make sure to take McClintock Lower Trail vice Enchanted Mesa Trail (though they both meet at McClintock Upper).

Negatives: *Extremely* limited parking, fairly busy on the weekends with lots of foot traffic. Recommend parking along 12th street, or catching the trail from another point other than Chautauqua Park, if possible, like Bellevue Drive or Green Mountain Memorial Park. We got there at 9am and found a curb spot on 12th near the northernmost end of the McClintock Lower trailhead, just down the street from the auditorium.

Great views and nice variety. Wildflowers and streams with sweeping Mountain Views.

Beautiful views, not very busy when I went beginning of May BUT parking is terrible in the area. We had some difficulty finding a spot, a lot of visitors for the Flatirons trails I think.

Rock solid trail with cool landscape. Recommended for a low-key hike. Very nice.

Awesome trail!!

A very easy, family friendly trail. A wide dirt road leads up to the mesa, and then continues into the pine forest.

A great hike for the whole family that’s not too difficult. If you want more of a challenge, there’s the chance to take a couple of different other trails along the way, too. I did this one with an injured ankle and had a great time!

Giving 3 stars because about half of the trail is a road-like dirt/gravel path - feels more like a "walk" than hike. Aside from that, definitely an easy hike, even when it gets rocky. When you're out of the tree cover, the views of the city and mountains are beautiful.

The McClintock Trail is a bit steep and includes rocky terrain and stairs. The Mesa trail is graded and easier. Heavily forested and very nice in hot weather.

Such a gift. Terrific for a group of almost any age and in any season. Just remember to pick up your trash and dog poop bags. Whew, nasty to see that.
