We went counterclockwise which made it a bit easier. The first 1.5 miles are next to the highway but the rest of the trail has great views.

Lovely trail… Pretty sunny for a good mile and then it gets shady. If you have your dog best to bring your dog in early to late morning.

Our second trail hiked in CO. It was not to challenging, plenty of views of the surrounding mountains.

The trail was very flat and easy to walk. Would highly recommend for mountain biking! It does get pretty busy in the afternoon so bring a mask!

great trail for scenic forest, not as much for mountain lookout views. going clockwise from the trailhead, the first uphill section can be medium-hard for newbies. elevation evens out and becomes more manageable! lots of traffic, great trail for bikes.

Gets into some nice trees for half the trail. We went clockwise and then cut down founder trail at the very end to save some time.

Enjoyed this trail! I don’t know what I expected seeing a 500+ elevation change but that first uphill was a doozy especially with a 20 pound kiddo and pack, but once we were in the woods it was lovely.

Nice trail half shaded(lovely part) half in sun closer to highway. Good if you need a quick access that is relatively easy.

It is just ok. I don’t like the Painters Pause trail because it’s right by the freeway, not very nature-like. To go in the other direction where it’s probably much better away from the road/traffic more than doubles the distance. I’ll have to try the other route when I want to hike 10+ miles. Lots of benches and other sitting structures around.

Nice workout. Pretty trail with incline into pines and beautiful views of meadows, and then into the meadow. I took my mountain bike, walked it up the hill and wrote it down.

Really beautiful outside but everyone brought a group of kids so it wasn’t really a peaceful hike. Came on a Thursday afternoon and we barely found parking. It’s also right next to a highway so it’s super loud

Running

One of my favorite loops for a quick trail run. Quick elevation gain at the beginning (clockwise) then easy breezy down hill/flat back to the lot. Plus heavily shaded for at least half. It’s almost always busy during the warm months but never feels crowded once you get away from the trailhead. Love this trail.

Little shade at first, but you hike up into tree coverage which is nice. The trail was pretty crowded, and there were lots of bikers (they were all very polite though which was appreciated). You can see lots of houses along the trail, and the views aren’t much but it’s a nice loop. There were a lot of bugs when we went, but that could just be because of a humid spring day. Lots of families & kids on the trail as well.
