Nice easy hike around the meadow and up over the hill. Some wildflowers.Option to take the Too Long Trail over Bergen Peak to get some more elevation/miles, which I'd do if I went again. No shade in most of the meadow. Saw a little baby snake shoot across the path. Make sure you stay on the trail.

Went after dinner for a little activity. Easy well marked trail. Lots of people out, especially mountain bikers.

My son and I enjoyed this beautiful trail on a Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly, the park was not terribly crowded. Unlike some of the trails in the Rocky Mountain National Park, this trail was relatively easy, and provided spectacular wildflowers and excellent views. Sandwiched in between two days of harder hiking at Rocky Mountain NP, this was a welcome relief. Peaceful!

Great trail. A good portion is in the meadow, no shade, so if its sunny I suggest sunscreen. The wildflowers are in bloom so it's really pretty.

Nice easy 4 mile loop around the meadow. Beautiful wild flowers along the way. Only con was the roar of traffic near the road part of the trail.

Don’t take painters, it’s too close to the road and a bit noisy, though views of the mountains are beautiful. All parts away from the road are great. Be ready to encounter mountain bikers and possibly horses... decent amount of traffic on this trail.

This area is absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous wild flowers, beautiful meadow with intermittent forest areas. It does get very crowded but it's an incredible open space close to Denver.

Great horseback riding trail! Highly recommend! Great blend of easy trails and sections of slightly more technical. Trails can be rocky in spots, recommend shoes or boots. Also recommend riding clock-wise, most mountain bikers were riding counter clock-wise so that helped with seeing them coming. Great evening ride, took about 2hrs at a walking pace, some trotting here and there. All other trail users were very courteous and nice. Parking room for about 3 trucks-trailers as. Didn't see water spigot, bring your own. Hitching posts in grass area near trailer parking. Does get VERY busy on weekends.

Nice and easy with plenty of sun in the meadow. Still some mud and slush by the trees, but easily navigated with care. Should be dry within a couple days. Beautiful!

Loved this trail! Took the pups and walked it . Was perfect weather today and not many people. No you share this trail with mountain bike riders I would suggest going during the week day I could see the weekends being really busy. Love that the trail was relatively wiring throughout the whole walk so my dogs both of my dogs have plenty a room to walk alongside me. And make sure you bring water there’s no streams or water along the way

Super snowy, but mostly packed along the loop. There were folks snowshoeing, but I did just fine in my boots. I brought my spikes with, but didn't end up needing them. A few fat tire bikes out there, and limited crowd. Gorgeous day!

Nice trail but a lot of road noise because it is so close to the road. Trail had little to no snow or ice on 12/25/18.

Love this trail! If you take it clockwise from the parking lot, there are some steep sections to get you warmed up then the remainder is moderate with beautiful views over Elk Meadow. Perfect for a quick afternoon local hike!

As a novice mountain biker I'd say this is somewhat technical with plenty of roots and scattered large, immovable, sharp rocks that command your attention and force you to pick skinny lines. This time of year shady areas are icy. I walked short sections and had a few pedal strikes. As my skills improve I might rate it as easy, but there are a few "must moves" along the way so for beginners it's definitely. intermediate!

This is Colorado trail running at its finest for me, in the mountains but not steep, a place where 4 miles feels like you barely started.
