Greatest trail in Snowmass. Start at Vista trail to gondola and then stay to right and pick up Sierra Club Loop to Summit trail. Beautiful views, moose, creek and the most comfortable trail to walk on (almost like a carpet inside the tree path). The summit’s views of maroon bells is breathtaking. Take the chair lift down to the Gondola, have lunch and then take gondola down and all for free!!!!!! (Except lunch of course!)
Your knees and hips will be happy!!!!!!

Great quick hike up to Elk Camp. A bit steep for the first little bit, but turns into a gradual and easy climb up. Really nice views the whole way.

Signage at trailhead list this as a difficult (black diamond) trail and I would have to agree due to the elevation gain. There is no scree, but I did take a few stops to catch my breath. It is a constant uphill climb. The description here is wrong though. The elevation gain is somewhere aroung 1600 feet NOT 7122 feet as it says here. You can ride the chair lift down and save your shins. There are quite a few wildflowers and the trail is largely wooded. They did a really nice job routing this trail through the wooded areas so it does not feel like a trail up a ski mountain. It is also kept separate from the downhill mountain bike trail, so you are not dodging bikes like at some other ski resorts.

Great Trail from the rough mid-point to the summit - at the end of the Vista Trail and the beginning of Elk Camp Summit - restaurant, restrooms, water available at end of gondola ride. It seems like most people take the chair lift to the top and hike down. We hiked up! beautiful trail. beautiful views all the way up. beautiful reward at the top. Restrooms available. Picnic tables for our lunch we packed! there are parts of this trail that are steep but the whole trail was managable. we made it in about 2 hours!
