This trail was not crowded at all, and incredibly lovely. I am adding it to my "fall hikes" list as all the aspens would be excellent in the fall. The elevation gain is a bit misleading, as I didn't gain (according to my iphone) nearly as much as it claimed. The views were great and the area had a number of different trail options.

Went on 5/26/20 and had a fantastic time. Trail offered many wonderful views of the peak and wasn’t too steep or tricky. Plenty of room on the trail for our large dog who had an absolute blast but was very tired after. Directions routed us right to the parking lot (my phone which has sprint didn’t get service most the trail tho). It was half full but we only saw 2 other groups out there. No real summit but plenty of spots to enjoy the scenery. Overall great time!

Hiked 5/7/20. Nice views of pikes peak and crags in the first 1.5 miles of trail. The loop portion of the trail is mostly forest setting in the shade. Mostly gradual inclines with a few steeper sections. An easy-moderate trail. After the loop portion of this trail we opted to take the vayhinger trail to catamount reservoir road and then back via limber pines trail. Made for a nice hike, about 7 miles on the dot. Took us 3 hours with a few stops. The vayhinger trail has fantastic views of pikes.

Pleasant, low populated trail. Super gorgeous view of Pikes Peak! :) Very easy-moderate hike, especially if you’re looking for something chill. You’ll see some burned trees along the trail. Great for biking/dogs!

Left around 8am Sunday morning. Ice and snow throughout, but not constant. I used sticks, but not spikes. Wonderful day. Great views of Pike’s. Plenty of birds chirping. Lot was full once I finished about 11am, but I’d recommend if you get to trailhead early enough!

Nice mostly easy trail. Still snow covered, well packed. Easy with micro spikes. Don’t miss the trail on the loop. If you end up on a steep incline, you got off trail. Nice views along the way, but not really a summit.

Loved this trail. Snow perfectly packed until you get to the loop where it gets a little deep (about a foot). Def use traction.

We got off trail for a bit, but all the tracks are in that direction. When you get to the point of going off, you’ll look to one side and see a clearing of trees almost as if the trail should go that way- it does. You should go that way. If you’re walking straight up hill at any point, you’re not correct.

Ok trail. Good if you want to take the kids on a longer hike with not a lot of crowds. The trail is buried in the woods, which is great, but there are not many stopping points with great views. There is also a barbed-wire fence along much of the trail which takes away from the experience and keeps you “closed in” on the trail. There is plenty of tree cover so you don’t get sun burned. Trail is well maintained.

Well maintained trail. Not that hard with a couple of exceptions. The lower portion is the nicest with a couple of views of Pike’s. The upper loop is not attractive with lots of deadwood and scraggly pines. A decent workout but not that scenic.

Decided to create a loop by taking this trail out to the one that cuts down to the reservoir (shortly before the loop begins), walking down the road to the reservoir, and then coming back up on Limber Pines. It was a really enjoyable 5-mile hike!

Very peaceful and well maintained. It wasn’t over crowded with people which made it nice.

Moderate trail very well maintained. The views near the top of Pikes Peak are so beautiful. There are plenty of flat parts that run through meadows and are filled with wildflowers. There were only a few people we saw on the way down only. If you wear a fitbit this hike registers 100 floors hiked. We really enjoyed this hike and will return.

We got to the trailhead around 10am during the week. Only saw a few other people on the trail. The Elder Fehn trail including the loop is 6.5 miles long, not 4.8 as the app states. Beautiful well maintained trail with some great views of Pikes Peak. A great dog trail. Ours loved it!

The trail is nicely kept. You get a couple of glimpses of Pikes Peak but it's mostly forest. Pretty anti-climatic. Decent hike but not a memorable one for me at least.

Easy access on the road. Packed snow with ice in some spots. Snowshoes or diamond tips recommended. The loop was not traveled today, we broke trail. The forest is very pretty.

Quiet trail, we were the only ones at the trail head and only passed 3 others on the way out. Good dog trail. It was snow packed and icy. Deeper snow on the loop. I would suggest microspikes.

Completed the 5 mile loop today. Gleaming snow made the trail even more enjoyable. Snow got deep at the loop around, and the height of the loop reached almost 10k feet. Realized there is a trail that leads down to the catamount reservoir. Is a great trail for dogs.

Got an amazing view of Pikes Peak after hiking over a couple of hills. Great trail in snow. I plan on returning with some snow shoes. Dog loved the trail, too!

Loved this trail! Late November, very few people on it, and most of the trail is packed snow and some ice. Footing isn't an issue with hiking boots if you're careful. Marked very well despite the snow, and beautiful views of the mountains as well. Plenty of birch trees too. Made for a nice ~ 5.5 mile hike (with the loop).

Still quite a bit of snow and ICE! It was gorgeous today, not a single person there in the morning besides me. Trail is well marked and easy to follow.
