A few muddy patches and trees falling over the path. We did a shortened version with kids 4 and 6.

We started at the Grand Lake end, down Shadow Mountain Lake, below the dam, down the Colorado to Lake Granby and up to a marshy pond where we saw moose. Tons of deadfall especially after the trail leaves Lake Granby and starts climbing. One branch of the trail along Shadow Mountain was a river so we took the branch that stayed along the shore. The wind kicked up and we watched trees fall near us on both sides of the trail. Mostly flat and nice views of the water most of the way. I’d like to do it as a shuttle, Grand Lake to Arapahoe Bay campground on the end of Lake Granby

Very nice trail! The areas that are sometimes marshy were being worked on. They’re adding a raised wooded path in several places.

Started on the lake side and walked to the town, great views and cool shade; returned thru meadow & ranger creek loop- several areas with trees down and had to wade thru marshy area, with more bugs, would have enjoyed backtracking the lake side

Easy hike along the lake to the dam and back. Not a ton of shade so it was warm and actually glad it rained on us a bit. No complaints from 6 kids aged 9-15. Views were of the houses across the lake.

Easy and relaxing hike, but couldn’t finish the loop because the trail is flooded.

A ton of cut trees further up trail, pine beetles issue?
