Completed the entire trail from Spruce Mt Trail Head to the gravesite and 105. On the way back, me and my 8 year old son took the loop up to Spruce Mt. The elevation was pretty steep at that point, but very fun with amazing views and not one fellow hiker was seen until we reached the loop at the top, then it became very crowded. I suggest you try the lower trails too, as the wildlife has obviously figured out where the people tend to go. We saw over a dozen deer at the lower elevations, and a Mt. Lion in the open, making its way to a watering hole. At the top the views are priceless, but did not see so much as a squirrel. Can't wait to do this again, lots of connecting trails for variety.

We did the 1.9 mi loop portion of the trail because of limited time near sunset, but it was beautiful. A narrow meandering trail through tall grass and flowers, eventually near the wooded area. Some areas experienced washed out trenching which could be an ankle breaker if not paying attention, otherwise a great easy hike.
