Dowdy Lake Trail is a 2.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Red Feather Lakes, Colorado that features a lake. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking.
(3.18.2017) This is a quick flat hike around the lake. Nice views of the mountains. There were a few snowy/ icy spots. It was popular with people fishing and even some campers, but pretty empty on the far side of the lake. I'd imagine that it would be very busy in the spring and summer.
Decent walk (not a hike) around a lake if you are up at Red Feather and want something to do. Took the dog on this one and he loved it but wanted to chase squirrels and chipmunks most of the time.
Loop book hike claims this is a 2.2 mile hike. Basically it's a jaunt around an amazing viewworthy lake! Would I drive out here just to walk a couple miles around a lake, nope, but if you book a camp site, say #25 right on said lake and can do the hike 2-4 times in a weekend, i say sure, why not! Again - beautiful, lots of wild life, trout, cranes, hawks, possibly a bald eagle, craw dads, dear... Rock too climb on, aspens, etc.
