Started at 8:15 am and only saw 1 other hiker the entire 9 mile hike. Nice mix of sunny and shady areas. Make sure to bring lots of water because it is quite a workout but well worth it for the views along the way

whew! definitely good cardio on the way up, with 2500' gain! alas, what goes up must come down...2500'. so that's a heckuva leg burner. a nice hike but 4 stars for no summit view.

Great trail close to town. Lots of vertical to work the legs and plenty of shade with an early start. Started at 6 AM and 2 to 2 1/2 hours to the top. No big "Top of the World" summit views, but good shade and cool air to recoup from the trek up.

Wonderful hike. Trail construction occurred from the CCC in the 1930s. Currently maintained. Also known as Summit Adventure Trail, Round Mountain Trail, and Dome Mountain Trail. All of these names are the same trail which lead to the summit of Sheep Mountain. Its about 8, 450ft elevation up at summit, with around 3, 520ft elevation gain. Pretty shaded on the trail for most of the way. Natural occuring spring crosses trail along the way, great stop for any dogs to refuel. There are 7 wooden signs along the way that talk about the history, environment, etc.
Beautiful morning hike. Lots of gorgeous wildflowers surrounded the trail as well.
