DOG AND KID FRIENDLY! Hiked this over New Years December 2018 due to not making it to Sunlight Mountain in time for snowboards to run out! Mostly locals out walking dogs and running even tho the trail was totally snow packed. Nice for when you need a little stroll or something to do and dont want to venture too far outside the town. So many families and doggies. Makes me want to come back to GS with my doggo.

Great hiking trail just past Kid Curry gravesite if you desire to go further. First seems to go straight up and can be strenuous but after a short while there are small trails off to the sides that go back and forth and are more level if you don't desire going straight up. Hiked for a total of 2.5miles from TH before calling it quits due to half bottle of water

This made for a great break in our 14 hour drive. We got the kids out and hiked up to Doc's grave. It was a nice easy hike. the views of the red rock were amazing.

four stars means that I would do it again. I will give it three stars because I would not do it again. Too many people. I like more solitude.

A Hike With History-
Get ready for a little American history of the old West. Take a short walk up to the top of Potter’s Field in the town Glenwood Springs and discover some interesting history of some famous and not-so-famous folks. Besides the memorial of Doc Holliday and Kid Curry, you’ll see markers of those who served in the early wars and even a family of serial killers who ran a hotel. The hike is short, and there are some moderately steep sections, but they are few and you are rewarded with a nice view of the town of Glenwood Springs below.

Found this randomly by walking down Rio Grande river trail then via alleyways that cut through town. Pretty cool. The graveyard was neat.

Just a quick trek up the hill to a historic cemetery.

Great roadside stop on our way to Moab, UT. 85° day and we started to break a sweat near the top. great view of Glenwood Springs and the valley. there were a dozen or so people on the trail with us. The path is dirt and rock, daily steep up and down. good shoes recommended!

Spoiler Alert.....They aren't sure which grave Doc is in. wha, wha!

Great for kids! I recommend earlier to get as much shade as possible.

We did breakfast at Daily Bread in town & did this hike on very full stomachs... just about a perfect combo to maximize kids’ energy/minimize whining.

Moderate uphill walk. The cemetery is interesting and Doc Holliday’s grave is a great photo op! Try to go in the morning since there is little shade in the afternoon and it can be a bit dusty. It was a short but fun adventure.

Great short hike with a view and lots of history.

One of the most special small walks around. The energy is so special; but if you get winded easily, save that energy for the first bit of the walk up as it's a bit steep in the beginning (and dependant upon season can be slick). After that it's a breeze with beautiful views and so much history. Don't just stop to say hello to Doc, go explore the rest of the cemetery as well... there are some beautiful hidden spots and memorials deep in the trees on small animal trails.

Was a great hike, enjoyable, few to little people on the trail but was incredibly muddy. The ice was a factor at first and I was thinking of hearing back to the trailhead to grab my yaktrax but after the ice let up the mud began. Nonetheless, easy and enjoyable

Nice nothing long but views are super and I really appreciate how they maintain the cemetery and how in many places they've left it as is and I had a very authentic and historical feel to me I truly enjoyed the morning to be it was a pretty easy walk up there but he just gets deeper and places so take water for sure

good quick trek with kid

Short with views of the valley. There are a couple areas to rest if needed and ends at the cemetery. More a point of interest than a hike.

Steep, steady walk to a very old cemetary. Had to pay homage to a couple of the Old West's infamous characters.

A little steep, but short and a memorable hike for sure. Great views of Glenwood Springs, and the graveyard at the top is lovely to walk through. We went on a Monday morning with friends and our kids after grabbing coffee at Deja Brew, and had the trail and cemetery to ourselves (except for an orange tabby who followed us, which the kids found delightful.) Lovely spot.
